When it comes to anniversaries, 50 is a major milestone. Well, our backyard theme park is approaching that milestone and like indoor plumbing -- it's gonna be big.

Disney officials said that the castle will also have golden bunting and a 50th anniversary crest.
The part we're most excited about is what Disney is calling “Beacons of Magic.”
All major landmarks inside Walt Disney Resort theme parks will begin to glow as the sun sets each night.
From the Tower of Terror and Tree of Life to EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth, each beacon will connect to one another and create a sight similar to stars in a night sky.
Renderings depicting the spectacle were released Friday and let's just say we've already got chills.
While we're still preparing our outfits, some of the Magic Kingdom's most renowned guests are already dressed to impress.
Disney officials showed off Mickey and Minnie's new fit Friday complete with gold highlights and what Disney calls “EARidescene” fabrics.
A lot can happen in 50 years, Consider this, when Disney World opened on Oct. 1, 1971 tickets were $3.50. In 2021 the price of a ticket has increased to well over $100.
Not to mention, the crowd at Magic Kingdom on opening day was only around 10,000 guests.
The celebration kicks off on Oct. 1.
